Listen here to find out…

We think volunteering with us is rewarding and fun but don’t take our word for it. Try it for yourself!

Make a difference!

Imagine the Possibilities

Our organisation has a pool of volunteers who go through the DBS check and volunteer training processes for hospital and home visits. These volunteers can help with everything from fundraising activities to giving talks in the community and directing people to statutory bodies. Our volunteers receive compensation for their travel and subsistence.

Volunteering with Sickle Cell Care Manchester is a rewarding experience. By paying them visits at home and in the hospital, you can aid people in managing a crisis better. You will develop a bond with the people you support and significantly impact their lives. You might be matched with these volunteer positions:

Befriending

As a befriender, you will be someone who likes to chat and feels comfortable supporting people through difficult times and when they are feeling unwell or vulnerable.

Shopping or Appointments

When someone is in crisis, daily life gets hard. You will help with shopping, picking up medications and taking people to appointments.

Home or Hospital Visiting

You will visit people when they are in crisis. You will be their voice with professionals and communicate their wishes when they can’t and you will keep them company.

Events and Activities

You will get involved at all stages of organising and attending support groups, events we are invited to and events and activities we organise.

Admin and Marketing

Our staff team is always busy and they need help with tasks such as managing our CRM, keeping in touch with supporters or sending bulk emails.

Fundraising or Social Media

You will organise and deliver fundraising activities, help us with fundraising and use your social networks to spread our messages.

We will give you the training and support you need to be effective in your volunteering role and to gain maximum benefit from the experience!!
